Festival of folk instruments and songs "Pece Atanasoski"

Name: Festival of folk instruments and songs "Pece Atanasoski"
Location: Dolneni, near Prilep

The Pece Atanasoski Festival is an international folk song festival that is organized every year in the village of Dolneni, near the city of Prilep. The festival, with a tradition of more than 40 years, brings together hundreds of participants each year from across the country, the Balkans and Europe, presenting their country's traditional folk music.
The festival is named in honor of Pece Atanasoski, one of the most famous folk music arrangers and performers in the country. Bagpipe aficionados will surely enjoy this Festival, since many of the events are focused on this instrument. More than 9.000 bagpipers from all over the world have taken part in the festival throughout its existence.
Apart from musical performances, the Festival also features workshops and lectures explaining the methods of playing traditional instruments and performing traditional folk music.
